Most of Block Thunder happens in silence. You place a shape. You look at the gaps. You wait for a piece that fits the plan instead of the panic. Then two lines clear at once, the thunder combo fires, and the board feels new again.
We built that loop in Unity so drag-and-drop stays precise on a phone. The game is offline-friendly and untimed, so a commute or a late night both work. When you are ready to compete, the global leaderboard takes the same calm session and turns it into a rank.
The August 25 Unity update made rank easier to check and cleaned up longer sessions. The puzzle did not need a new gimmick. It needed a clearer path from “one more placement” to “I wonder where I stand.”
Unity gamedev notes
- Drag colorful blocks onto the grid and clear full rows or columns.
- Chain clears to trigger thunder combos and bigger scores.
- Play without a clock — the pressure is the shrinking space, not a countdown.
- Submit scores online when you want a worldwide comparison.
Block Thunder is live as com.fourmula.blockthunder. It is the studio’s flagship Unity block puzzle: familiar to pick up, stubborn to master.
